The nations of the world - or perhaps just the congregations of Madison - come together to celebrate and compete in our favorite carnival games! Beth Israel Center, Congregation Shaarei Shamayim, Temple Beth El, and the Jewish Federation of Madison present the Winter Olympic Community Purim Carnival! Wear your favorite costume, enjoy a fabulous Purim spiel, and play games to win prizes and show your skills in the "international" sporting event of the year!Admission includes entertainment and games. Just Veggiez will be selling lunch items. Adamah will be selling hamantaschen, and will have hamantaschen pre-orders available for pickup.
10:00 am - Doors open with limited carnival entertainment and activities
10:30 am - The Opening Ceremony commences, featuring a Purim spiel with Jewish community clergy and staff, followed by the Costume Parade of Nations
10:50 am - 1:30 pm - Carnival festivities open (after the spiel) with carnival games, activities, crafts, prizes, food sales, and more!
1:00pm - Closing Ceremony, featuring David Landau, "The King of Kids' Music."
1:30 pm - Doors close
Admission (includes entertainment and games)
Ages 2 - 12: $9 per child ($25 maximum for 3 or more children) for advance online registration through Thursday, February 26; $10 per child ($30 maximum for 3 or more children) starting Friday, February 27, or at the door.
Adults or children under 2 years: No charge.
Volunteer
Volunteer to help make the magic happen! Available opportunities include set-up, clean-up, admission/check-in, running activities and games, giving out prizes, and taking photos. We love any and all volunteers, including teens and those who don't have kids participating in the carnival to let those kiddos and their guardians enjoy the fun and games together.
