Community Planting Day: Waihī Beach
Advertisement
Join Coast Care at a local planting day in Waihī Beach.
Digging in the sand is quite easy, and dune restoration can be enjoyable and rewarding. You'll be doing your bit for our native plants and animals, and working with like-minded locals who care about the environment.
Planting will be front dune species.
What to bring:
• Gardening gloves (we will have some on hand, but you may prefer to bring your own)
• Gumboots or sturdy, covered walking shoes/boots (no jandals or bare feet please)
• Sunhat and water
• Raincoat (just in case).
Meet by the Coast Care flags!
Please keep an eye on the weather forecasts. If MetService issues an orange or red weather warning, this event will be cancelled. Postponement date is 28 June 2026.
