Dear Friends, August is Overdose Awareness Month. On International Overdose Awareness Day, August 31st, Recovery Cafe will hold a Community Memorial honoring those we have lost to overdose, at Maritime Heritage Park.
We will honor these lives with purple candles, an interfaith prayer table, and words of comfort and hope by Hanah Warthan with Mission for Missy.
We will be displaying a Memorial Wall of names & photos of departed loved ones. If interested, you may submit names and photos to: [email protected].
Even as overdose deaths decline, the pain of our collective loss is real.
Our hope is to bring honor and dignity to loved ones, mourn together, and commit to continue caring for the living together.
