You're Invited!
Get ready for an evening of family fun, BBQ, and first-hand insights into your city. We are excited to host Community Night this summer on Tuesday, August 18th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 350 Marlboro Street (at the location of Keene Public Works, the Keene Police Department, and Keene ICE).
From 4 PM to 5 PM, there will be a "sensory hour," during which the air will be removed from the air horns of City vehicles. If you or anyone in your party has sensory concerns (or you'd just prefer to come when there won't be lots of honking horns!), that's a great time to come enjoy this event.
This Community Night features a “Touch-a-Truck” theme for kids ages 0 to 99+.
Explore some of our coolest City vehicles up close – Fire trucks, Police cars, giant snow plow trucks, lots of tractors, and more! Climb aboard, honk horns from 5 PM - 7 PM (come from 4 PM to 5 PM if you don't want to hear horns), and meet the dedicated professionals who use the equipment to take care of your city.
But that’s not all – we’ll have:
Free burgers, hot dogs, and ice cream for everyone
Fun games and activities
City staff from all departments will be present to chat about current projects, explain City services, talk about job opportunities, and answer any questions you have. This is your chance to connect directly with the people who work for your City.
Community Night is a fantastic opportunity for Keene residents to engage directly with City staff outside of City Hall. We can’t wait to see you there!
Volunteers will direct drivers to available parking. Parking will be available in three locations:
The Keene Senior Center parking lot
The parking lot west of the turnaround in front of the Police Department
The parking lot beside the Public Works building
