Join us for a community natural dye vat! Participants can bring textiles to dye in vats created from locally sourced plants.
About this Event

This event is in collaboration with Slow Stitch Detroit and Tenacity Craft! The event takes place on the lawn of Tenacity Craft - come enjoy food, drinks and good company.
Please donate! Donations help the artists with continued programming and the time to collect, test, and extract the dyes.
This event is curated by fiber artists Liana Li, Jo Johnson-Ponti & Cat Washington. The artists have started this expermental project of using locally sourced plants to dye natural textiles.
For optimal dyeing plan for 3 hours of total dyeing time (1hr in mordant and 2hr in dye).
The type of plants used will be communicated with participants closer to the event date.
Bring natural fibers to dye.
An optional mordant vat will be available prior to dyeing to ensure long-lasting color. To mordant, a small sliding scale fee is required to ensure we can purchase mordant supplies in the future.
