About this Event
Navigating mental health and substance use support can feel confusing and overwhelming—especially when you’re already under stress. Many people don’t seek help simply because they don’t know where to start.
Let’s Begin: Accessing Support is a community education workshop designed to break down the mental health and addiction care system in clear, practical language. Whether you are seeking help for yourself, supporting a loved one, or simply want to better understand available resources, this workshop will provide clarity and direction.
What You’ll Learn:
- The roles of key professionals (PCP, therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, CSW/LSW, CADC/LCADC) and when to contact each one
- Early warning signs of a mental health crisis and what steps to take
- The difference between outpatient therapy, intensive outpatient (IOP), inpatient treatment, detox, and recovery housing
- Community-based recovery options including 12-Step meetings, SMART Recovery, and peer support
- How to access care without panic, shame, or confusion
What to Expect:
- Clear, plain-language education
- Real-world examples and practical guidance
- Opportunity to ask questions in a supportive environment
- Take-home information you can use immediately
- A welcoming, judgment-free space for individuals and families
This workshop is ideal for individuals, caregivers, faith leaders, community members, and anyone asking, “What do I do now?”
Understanding the system is the first step toward stability. Join us and leave with confidence, clarity, and direction.
