Rescheduled for Black History Month!đź“… February 18, 2026
Craft Your Own Ujimaa-Inspired Table Runner Workshop in the historic City of Textiles, join us for a hands-on, festive workshop celebrating Ujimaa (Collective Work and Responsibility)—a core principle of Kwanzaa and a powerful value rooted in Black history and community traditions.
This workshop is more than sewing a beautiful table runner. It’s a time to gather in the spirit of Black History Month—sharing creativity, conversation, laughter, and refreshments while honoring unity, cooperation, and shared responsibility.
Participants will learn basic sewing and embroidery techniques as they design and create their own Ujimaa-inspired table runner.
The event is free and open to the public. Children ages 6+ must be accompanied by an adult. Supplies are limited
This program is made possible by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), Mass Humanities in partnership with the Department of Conservation and Recreation of Massachusetts (DCR) and the Big Business Network.
