Join us for a Community Kirtan event like Owensboro has never experienced before. In this event facilitated by Sharanam, he will begin by leading the music, chanting/ singing just to get the energy going. As we progress, anyone who comes with a musical instrument and a heart song, or a chant, is encouraged to use a microphone and lead the singing. This event is about The Community Empowerment of Singing and Leadership, and giving many people a chance to step up and share their voices.
Everyone is welcome to bring their own drum or instrument to contribute. This is OPTIONAL and not mandatory to attend.
What is Kirtan? Kirtan is a form of bhakti (BHAK-tee), the yoga of devotion and is the yoga of sound. Based on ancient chants, it has the ability to quiet the mind if listened to with intention. Everyone experiences kirtan differently, and it doesn’t have to be a religious experience. You can think of it as a sing-along with ancient roots connected to India and singing in Sanskrit, it allows us to connect to ourselves, our vibrations and the vibrations of others.
About Sharanam Anandama: He is a Spiritual Adventurer that plays cross cultural music He calls his musical transmission, "Rhythm and Bliss"….a flowing style played on Electric Mountain Dulcimer, based on "The Raga Style" of India, combined with Spoken Word. Sharanam leads programs in Meditation and Bhakti Yoga. His goal is to help individuals attain Spiritual Liberation.
This will be donation based please bring a suggested $20 cash donation to go towards Sharanam sharing his gifts. 🙏🏼
