Community Green Dot Bystander Intervention Training
About this Event
Join us for a free, interactive Community Green Dot Bystander Intervention Training. This three-hour training equips participants with practical, realistic skills to safely respond to situations involving domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, child abuse, human trafficking, bullying, harassment, and other forms of interpersonal violence.
Everyone has a role in creating safer communities. Whether you're a community member, parent, student, faith leader, volunteer, or professional, you'll leave with simple strategies you can begin using immediately.
Lunch will be provided immediately following the training.
About This Event
Green Dot is an evidence-informed violence prevention strategy built on the belief that everyone can help create safer communities.
During this interactive training, participants will learn:
- What "Green Dots" and "Red Dots" represent
- How to recognize warning signs before violence occurs
- The three strategies for safe intervention: Direct, Distract, and Delegate
- How to overcome common barriers to stepping in
- Ways to strengthen positive community norms
- How small actions can make a significant difference
This training emphasizes practical, realistic interventions that prioritize your safety while supporting those around you.
No previous experience or knowledge is necessary.
