Please join us for a community gathering on February 20, from 3:30 pm at the MLK library in Washington, DC, to gather after a long, cold stretch in our area and meet a guest speaker, debutante writer, Georgian Association volunteer from California, Dr Mari Chikvaidze (Kvatia), who recently published a semi-fictional book featuring a non-fictional character - a long-time member of the Georgian Association - Amberky (Beko) Giorgidze. We can discuss the plight of immigration - past and present - and remember how past generations supported Georgia from the US.
About the book:
"The Imposter" is a family saga that chronicles the migration and assimilation of people from Persia, Anatolia, Eastern Europe, and small villages in Georgia to the world's great cities. Each character’s journey bears witness to the human capacity for inner adaptation and spiritual growth - even in the face of persistent and unrelenting self-doubt. Filled with triumphs and failures, these stories remind us that the search for identity and belonging is universal, often transcending geographic boundaries. This quest also sharply reveals the intergenerational traumas that bind all the protagonists of this narrative.

შემოგვიერთდით პარასკევს, 20 თებერვალს, 3:30 დან ვაშინგტონში, MLK ბიბლიოთეკაში, ცივი ამინდების შემდეგ პირველ პირისპირ შეხვედრაზე. შევიკრიბოთ, ვისაუბროთ და გავიცნოთ დებიუტანტი მწერალი, ქართული ასოციაციის მოხალისე კალიფორნიიდან, მარი ჩიკვაიძე (კვატია), რომელმაც გამომცემლობა "აზრის" დახმარებით, ცოტა ხნის წინ გამოსცა თავისი პირველი მხატვრული წიგნი, რომელშიც ასევე მოთხრობილია ასოციაციის დიდი ხნის ნამდვილი წევრის, ამბერკი (ბეკო) გიორგიძის ისტორია. ვისაუბროთ ძველი და ახალი ემიგრაციის სირთულეებზე და გავიხსენოთ როგორ ეხმარებოდა ძველი თაობა საქართველოს ამერიკიდან.
