Community Garden to Table
About this Event
Registration is for all 4 sessions. A portion of the vegetables grown from this program series will go towards a Culinary Literacy program in early Fall.
All sessions will take place at Assembly Park Community Garden (80 Interchange Wy, Concord, ON, L4K 5W3).
Each session will start with practical skill-building, covering a different topic each time. Topics might include soil & plant health, small space & vertical gardening, composting, succession planting, and pollination. We will also be doing active garden work such as planting, weeding, watering, pruning, mulching, trellising, composting and harvesting. By the end of the series, you'll feel more confident maintaining your own food garden!
There is shade at the garden, but please bring water, wear a hat and sunscreen, and dress for outdoor work. Closed-toed shoes are required, and you should expect to get soil on your clothing. We encourage you to bring your own gardening gloves and hand tools.
