Fun Drum Circle!
Join us on the second Saturday of every month from 2-4pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Evansville, 2910 E. Morgan Ave., Evansville, IN
At Fun Drum the main goal is to gather as a community to connect through drumming...and have fun with it! The types of percussion instruments used at a Fun Drum include djembes, congas, doumbeks, bongos, cajon, and frame drums, as well as rhythm sticks, shakers, rasps, and tambourines. There will be a blanket in the middle of the circle with extra instruments to share, but if you have a drum, please bring it!
While we will always meet at UUCE on the second Saturday of each month, we are also hoping to hold outdoor drum circles at different times throughout the year.
*In order to maintain the responsibility that Jak and Willow have as co-facilitators in using the church, there needs to be a few guidelines in place to keep things running smoothly. We have only reserved the sanctuary for our Fun Drum circle. There may be times when members of UUCE, or other groups might meet in the back entry room at the tables, or in the nursery while we're there. Anyone who attends the Fun Drum should be joining us in the sanctuary.
*Children are welcome to attend the Fun Drum accompanied by a parent or guardian. We don't necessarily want to put an age limit on children taking part in the Fun Drum, so we'll leave it up to you to decide if your child is old enough to sit in the circle and enjoy the drumming. They don't have to drum if they don't want to, but they should be sitting in the circle with you. Please be respectful of the drums and other instruments on the blanket. If you have a really young child please help them choose an instrument so that they aren't walking across the blanket and possibly stepping on instruments.
**There is no cost to participate in the Fun Drum Circle. There will be a freewill donation basket on the blanket with all donations going to UUCE for associated costs with use of the facility.**
