Join us for a community forum focused on healthcare in Illinois, what’s working, what isn’t, and what real people think needs to change.
This is not a rally or a lecture. It’s a structured community conversation built around real experiences and open discussion.
We’ll begin the evening with a short introduction to Healthcare4Illinois and the Illinois Care Initiative, including what they are trying to accomplish and why this work is focused on building a realistic, people-driven path toward better healthcare outcomes in Illinois.
The first half of the forum will feature a panel of Illinois residents sharing real healthcare experiences, from costs and coverage problems to access challenges and system breakdowns. Each panelist will also share how they believe the problem could be improved if they had the ability to change it.
The second half of the event will open the conversation to the audience. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, respond to what they’ve heard, and share their own experiences and ideas for reform.
Before the formal program begins, there will be a 30-minute reception. During this time, attendees are encouraged to talk informally, meet others, and connect with the panelists.
Panelists will be present during the reception wearing name badges identifying them as panelists, and they will be available to engage directly with attendees, answer questions, and hear personal experiences before the main program begins.
We believe the most important part of healthcare reform is listening to the people who live with the system every day, and the reception is designed to make that part of the event just as meaningful as the formal program.
The evening will conclude with a short recap, next steps for the Illinois Care Initiative, and a call for volunteers and continued participation.
The forum runs until 7:30 (half hour before the library closes at 8:00 PM). Afterward, panelists and attendees are welcome to continue informal conversation outside for anyone who wants to stay and talk further.
