Community Forum on Consumer Protection

OCP invites residents to participate in a Community Forum on Consumer Protection as part of National Consumer Protection Week.

This in-person event is designed to bring the community together for open dialogue about your consumer protection issues. This may include issues such as scams and fraud, home improvement, retail purchases, and any other consumer-related issues.

This is not a presentation. The event will be a facilitated, interactive discussion focused on listening to issues impacting your community and identifying common themes across the County.

What to Expect:

• A brief explanation of what consumer protection is and why it matters.
• Facilitated small and large group discussions.
• Share your insights on consumer issues you’ve encountered, barriers faced when concerns arise, and trends across the County.
• A closing reflection on how community input will inform future consumer protection policy, education, and outreach.

• Date: Thursday, March 5, 2026
• Time: 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (1.5 hours)
• Location: Rockville Memorial Library, second-floor meeting room
• 21 Maryland Ave, Rockville, MD 20850
• Cost: Free
• Audience: Open to the public (registration required)
• Parking: Parking is available at street meters or in the Rockville Town Square garages. Library customers can get 90 minutes of free parking when they park in one of the Rockville Town Square garages. Garage A (green “A”): accessible from Maryland Avenue near Beall Avenue and from Hungerford Drive. Garage B (blue “B”): accessible from the driveway next to Gold’s Gym. Garage C.
• Light refreshments—including coffee, tea, water, and light snacks—will be available at the start of the conference and during a scheduled break.
• Space is limited. Advance registration is required.
