Community First Aid Awareness Course
About this Event
Join All Wheel Drive Response North East (AWDRNE) for a free, friendly Community First Aid Awareness Course designed for adults and young people aged 16 and over.
This two-hour session is suitable for people with little or no previous first aid knowledge. It will introduce practical, everyday skills that may help you respond calmly and safely in an emergency.
During the course, we will cover:
- How to assess an emergency safely
- When and how to call 999
- How to check if someone is responsive and breathing
- The recovery position
- CPR and AED awareness
- Helping someone who is choking
- Serious bleeding and shock
The session will include clear demonstrations, practical activities and opportunities to ask questions.
No previous experience is needed. Please wear comfortable clothing, as some activities may involve kneeling on the floor.
This is a first aid awareness course only and is not an accredited qualification.
Places are free but limited, so advance booking is required.
