About the Course:
The CWC Jackson Community English as a Second Language (ESL) Course is a 14-week program designed for students who want to improve their general English language skills for work, everyday life, and college-level courses. The Community ESL Course will have two co-instructors to meet the needs of beginner/intermediate and intermediate/advanced learners. The course uses the Intercambio curriculum, and students will participate in pre and post-course testing to help track progression and learning outcomes. Open to all, no prerequisites.

Please meet your instructors:
Theresa Brunker is an English language instructor at Central Wyoming College, and is committed to closing the educational and opportunity gaps in our community through meaningful cross-cultural relationships both in and out of the classroom.
Theresa has an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and a BA in English/French. Originally from Minnesota, she grew up adventuring in the Boundary Waters where outdoor experiences helped shape her character, build perseverance and helped her discover her inner strength. She and her husband have three young-adult children who have been hiking, biking and skiing in the Tetons since 2005. Theresa is passionate about the transformative power of communing with our natural environment and wants to ensure that these experiences are accessible to all.

Aleese Holiday is no stranger to the mountains and mountain communities. Raised in Lake Tahoe, California, Aleese was immersed in the outdoors and grew up with a deep love of nature. She graduated from Quest University Canada in 2023 with a Bachelor’s of Art and Science in Connection to the Self, Nature, and Community. In a bilingual Spanish program for her entire schooling, Aleese grew up helping in her mother’s bilingual K/1 classroom. Her parents have retired in Mexico, and Aleese is fortunate to visit them regularly. Through her travels to Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Spain, she has gained Spanish fluency and loves to engage in bilingual conversation. She is a horse trainer, life coach, freelance filmmaker and photographer, and certified yoga teacher and personal trainer.
