About this Event
About this meeting
As part of the 'Future Energy Landscapes' project in Wiltshire, we invite you to explore how community-owned renewable energy could benefit your area. These are clean energy projects that are designed, owned, and led by local people, with the benefits staying in the community, depending on what’s suitable for your area. This is your chance to help shape energy projects that are designed and directed by local people.
This meeting is part of a series of conversations that have been ongoing in Corsham since July 2025, including a workshop on renewable energy, an open survey, a stall at Corsham Library, a session at Corsham Youth Zone, and a drop-in evening at Springfield Community Campus. This meeting is the next step in the discussion to understand if there is appetite in Corsham to pursue a community-owned renewable energy project, and if so, what might this look like.
This meeting will cover the following topics:
- Community energy and how it works in practice
- The benefits for the Corsham community
- Discussion of your views on community energy
- The roles for community members in the process
- If appropriate, a discussion on which locations you would consider suitable for a renewable energy site that is community-owned
- Summary of next steps and opportunities for Corsham
A meeting agenda will be shared closer to the time but if you have any questions in the meantime please contact [email protected].
Key details:
- This event is being hosted alongside Corsham Climate Action at their regular monthly meeting.
- Light refreshments will be provided (tea, coffee, biscuits).
- Please sign up to help us understand how many people are attending.
About Future Energy Landscapes
Future Energy Landscapes is a project led by the Centre for Sustainable Energy, in partnership with Bath and West Community Energy and Wiltshire Council. The project is funded by the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme and is running in six communities in Wiltshire. In Corsham, the project is working alongside Corsham Climate Action to start conversations about energy use and renewable energy generation. Community-led energy projects keep benefits local – from cheaper energy bills to investment in local facilities. When communities lead energy projects, they create solutions that work for everyone – tackling both climate change and rising energy costs. This project aims to explore the options for community energy projects in Wiltshire and give local people a voice.
