Community Day 2026

Community Day is all about bringing families together and connecting our community with the free resources, services, and support they need to thrive. Each year, hundreds of families join us for a day centered around connection, opportunity, and empowerment. From back-to-school support and wellness resources to family fun and local organizations ready to serve, we've rounded up everything your family needs to prepare for the school year (and beyond).

• Engage in family-friendly activities
• Dine at a local food truck
• Attend our job fair
• Visit the health clinic and get up to date on school required immunzations
• Get a fresh style with a haircut or braids
• Pick-up free school supplies (Separate registration required. Register here)
• Free meal ticket with registration

Please note: This is event is free to attend, but registration is required to enter and recieve a ticket to dine at one of our food trucks.

Petersburg High School

Jazz Barber and Hairstyling Academy is offering free haircuts and braid/ponytail styles to Petersburg students! Register for services here and head to Petersburg High School Cosmetology Salon (3101 Johnson Rd) during your appointment time to get a fresh look for school.

Petersburg City Schools, in partnership with local businesses and community organizations, are offering free school supply packs for Petersburg students who are enrolled in the 2026-2027 school year. Pre-registration required and pickup is only available on August 8th during the Community Day event. Register here.

Crimson Clinic (part of the CVHS family) is offering the required 7th and 12th grade vaccinations from 10am to 1pm. Seventh graders need the HPV vaccine, Tdap, and the first dose of Meningococcal ACWY, while 12th graders need their second dose of Meningococcal ACWY. Please call 804.972.0068 to schedule an appointment, and don't forget to bring your insurance card!
