Community Cow Project: Final Presentation & Cottage Pie! 🐮🌱
Exmoor and its surrounding areas produce some of the nation’s finest beef—but that’s only half the story. The way our local farmers manage the land creates a diverse range of habitats supporting a rich variety of plant and animal life.
Despite this, farming and cattle are often portrayed as purely environmental villains. Our Community Cow Project was set up to challenge that narrative.
Over the course of the project, local children have visited Jonathan and Charlotte Webber's farm on Exmoor to see first hand how cattle are raised, discover the ecosystems supported by livestock, explore the connection to our food (including venison butchery), and ultimately learn how it all translates to the plate.
Now, we’d love to invite the Exmoor farming community to see the results!
📅 What’s On:
Presentation: Listen to the children share what they’ve learned about sustainable Exmoor farming and nature conservation.
Share a delicious cottage pie, prepared by the children themselves using the beef from the project.
🤝 We Need Your Help!
We’re looking for a few enthusiastic volunteers to join us in the kitchen on the morning of the event to help supervise and prep for making the cottage pies. If you can lend a hand, please drop us a message!
💚 Can’t make it, but want to support us?
Buy a "steak" in the project: Help fund future cohorts and keep this hands-on learning going.
Host the next cohort: If you’re an Exmoor farmer interested in hosting a future Community Cow visit, we’d love to hear from you.
Click the link above to book your FREE place. We look forward to seeing you there! 🍽️✨
PLEASE NOTE, PARENTS OF CHILDREN INVOLVED IN THE PROJECT ALREADY HAVE SPACES ALLOCATED SO NO NEED TO BOOK 😀
