Let’s Talk About It: Community Conversations on Suicide & Mental Health Among Black Women

Join us for a free, in-person community conversation created by and for Black women to talk openly about what suicidality can look like, why Black women so often suffer in silence, and how we can begin having honest, supportive conversations about it.

This one-hour gathering offers a shame-free space to explore the realities of mental health and suicide in our lives and communities—without judgment, fixing, or pressure. Together, we’ll reflect on the cultural expectations, survival narratives, and systemic barriers that make it hard for Black women to name distress or ask for help, and begin to shift that silence into shared understanding.

Whether suicide has touched your life personally, you’re supporting someone else, or you’re simply seeking community and language for these conversations, you are welcome here. There is no expectation to share—listening and being present are always enough.

What to expect:

• Guided conversation about what suicidality can look like among Black women
• Honest discussion on silence, stigma, and “strength” culture
• A supportive, respectful, community-centered environment
• Space to reflect, connect, and learn how to start these conversations with care
• Mental health resources

This event is for Black women (women and people with expansive gender identities).
