About this Event

Freedom is more than a date on the calendar. It's a question we're still living inside of.

On June 13th, as part of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art's Juneteenth programming, storyteller and community creator Craig Smith brings the COMMUNION gathering experience to one of Kansas City's most beloved public spaces.

COMMUNION is a facilitated gathering built around honest conversation, genuine human connection, and questions worth sitting with. No agenda. No performance. Just people in a room willing to go somewhere real together.

This session's question: How do we make Freedom?

What does it look like in your daily life? In your relationships? In the choices you make and the ones you feel you can't?

Bring your experience. Bring your questions. Bring someone you'd want to have this conversation with.
