----Community Ceremony of Remembrance----
----Friday, September 11, at 10:00 a.m.----
----MSU Billings City College, 3803 Central Ave.----
Join us for a special 9/11 tribute as our community gathers to honor the lives lost, remember the sacrifices made, and reflect on the strength and resilience of our nation. The public is encouraged to attend and hear remarks from local officials, retired military members, and other special guests.
In remembrance of that tragic day and the lives lost, 1,000 American flags will stand in solemn tribute to the victims and heroes of 9/11, our military members, first responders, veterans, and all who continue to protect our freedoms.
----Spirit of Freedom Field of 1,000 Flags----
From September 7–13, experience the breathtaking sight of 1,000 American flags displayed during daylight hours.
Walk among the flags, reflect on the tribute each one represents, and honor our heroes and the enduring spirit of our great nation.
Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
----Dedicate a Flag---- Click Link HERE: https://breakfastexchangewebsite75737.wildapricot.org/Spirit-Field
Flag dedications may be purchased for $100. A laminated dedication tag will be attached to an American flag in honor or memory of someone who holds a special place in your heart.
Flags may be dedicated to veterans, active-duty military members, first responders, Gold Star families, patriotic Americans, loved ones who inspire service, or anyone whose life or memory you wish to celebrate.
Your dedicated flag will be displayed among the 1,000 flags throughout the seven-day Spirit of Freedom Field event. At the conclusion of the event, your American flag and laminated dedication tag will be available for pickup.
Proceeds from flag sponsorships will support local community service projects through the Breakfast Exchange Club of Billings.
----Special 9/11 Exhibits at City College----
MSU Billings City College will also be open for visitors to explore materials from the MSU Billings Library’s extensive 9/11 collection. The collection includes hundreds of print, video, and electronic resources—from technical reports and government documents to materials covering the arts, sciences, and juvenile literature.
Two commemorative aerial-view prints depicting the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, are permanently displayed in the Health Sciences Building at City College. The prints are signed by the artist and by the first-responder pilots who flew fighter jets to the two sites that day.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to view a 612-pound section of steel I-beam recovered from the destroyed World Trade Center, now serving as the centerpiece of the memorial.
Please join us for this breathtaking display as we come together to honor America, remember the fallen, and pay tribute to our heroes.
