Join us for a free workshop exploring care as political practice on Saturday 17 January.Drawing on knowledge of community care and mutual aid organisers, we will think about methods like resource sharing, letter writing for prisoner support, and DIY healthcare, as well as ways to share that knowledge through sound. This workshop will explore care as a range of political practices that involve maintenance, pleasure, conflict, sustenance, and scarcity.
Led by Rotterdam-based artist Cannach MacBride, the workshop will include grounding exercises, an intro to basic audio recording, and making care maps exploring relationships of care and community.

This workshop is part of the upcoming Film Library exhibition Queer Care Caravan, an artist residency hosted by The Burr of Berwick, exploring resilient LGBTQIA+ community led care. Inspired by the use of caravans as a therapeutic retreat, 3 artists from Scotland, the Netherlands and Canada will spend time in Berwick-upon-Tweed sharing radical approaches to care taken by the resilient LGBTQIA+ community. The Film Library opens 17 January and will be open every Saturday, 12 - 4pm, until 29 March 2026.
