About this Event

For this Community Bikepacking Weekend, we'll meet at 3pm on Friday afternoon near the start of the Bristol-Bath cycle path before cycling east out of the city. Over the course of the weekend we'll ride a loop which takes in views of hillside chalk drawings, Stonehenge, and Longleat Safari Park! The exact route will be sent out about a week beforehand to all joining, along with suggested packing list and meeting point details.

An indication of the route can be found here, please note this is subject to change as we recce the route: https://tinyurl.com/august-bikepacking-route

The whole route is 218km, split up between the days as follows:

  • Friday afternoon - 43km, 370m elevation
  • Saturday - 85km, 710m elevation
  • Sunday - 90km, 710m elevation

The route is all on roads and cycle paths, and is suitable for all types of bike. In attending this weekender, you should be comfortable being on your bike for ~7 hours each day, with some sections on busier roads. We will cycle in a group, and will stop regularly for food, water, and taking in the view! Nobody will be dropped, and we'll wait at the top of each hill to regroup.

We'd love for you to join - grab a ticket to book your spot! We've got a couple of different ticket options to choose from:

🚲 Attending, plus borrowing a full set of bikepacking bags. This includes a saddle, frame, handlebar, and top tube bag comprising roughly 40L of total storage.

🚲 Attending, and are able to bring your own bikepacking bags and equipment.

Loop Bikepacking Bursary Tickets - We have a number of bursary tickets available, thanks to a generous donation which has allowed us to pay these forward. To access these tickets please email us at [email protected] with: your name, contact number, and details of any equipment you may need to borrow for the weekend (e.g. bikepacking bags). These bursary tickets will cover your entry fee, cost of any bikepacking bags hired, and the campsite costs.

For insurance purposes - although we will be riding in a group, this is not a guided ride and all riders are responsible for their own personal safety. You will need to have the route downloaded either on a phone or bike computer. All attendees must be over 18 years old.
