Hello Neighbors,For years, we’ve all shared the same frustrations about traffic and pedestrian safety along 19th Street. We see a problem, we raise the issue, and we either get no fix, or eventually, we get a piecemeal, reactive fix. A little trimming here, a new sign there. It’s a "Handyman" approach to leadership, and it’s not good enough.
Golden deserves an "Architect's Method"—a process where we, the residents, are consulted before a plan is made, where we co-design a real blueprint for success, and where we have a leader committed to delivering on that shared vision.
It’s time we stopped just talking about our problems and started building the solutions together.
That’s why I’m inviting you to the Community Accountability Workshop: The 19th Street Corridor—a one-hour, working session focused entirely on creating a resident-led blueprint for this critical area. It’s a roll-up-your-sleeves meeting to get things done.
Together, we will:
Create the Architect's Punch List for the lingering safety issues at the Tangent and Moly Road crossings.
Build the Blueprint for the new Elm Street crossing before it's built.
Produce a Tangible Result: We will walk out of this meeting with a "Community Accountability Blueprint" that we can officially submit to the city and the School of Mines.
This isn't just another meeting to air grievances. We will be discussing specific, creative, and practical solutions. For example:
For the dangerous Tangent intersection: What if we installed a "smart" cyclist detection system—using the same technology the city already uses for the elk crossing—to give drivers a real-time warning?
For the future Elm Street crossing: What if we built in accountability from the start with a permanent QR-code reporting tool, empowering residents to instantly report near-misses and contribute to a public safety dashboard?
These are the kinds of forward-thinking ideas we will build upon together. This is what my commitment to "Consult, Co-Design, Deliver" looks like in action. It’s how I believe our city should be run—with professionalism, preparation, and a deep respect for the wisdom of our community.

Defining the Fixes: Brainstorming immediate, practical, and creative solutions to finish the job right.
(6:25 PM - 6:55 PM) Part 2: Building the Blueprint (The Future Elm Street Crossing)
The Diagnosis: A proactive analysis of the challenges posed by the future Elm Street crossing, from the "Roundabout Freeze" to pedestrian safety and neighborhood aesthetics.
Co-Designing Solutions: Working together to build a comprehensive blueprint with specific, actionable solutions that we can present to the city and Mines before the project is designed.

Review of the "Community Accountability Blueprint" draft.
A clear commitment on how the final blueprint will be delivered to city officials and shared with the community.
