Communal Conversation - Offerings: Tools for Remembrance and Grief

You are invited to enjoy original compositions and improvisations by Stephanie Henry a composer and pianist. Nicole Thomas is an interdisciplinary artist who will share current ceramic works and facilitate a community conversation focusing on tools for remembrance and grief.

is a composer and pianist based in Minneapolis, MN. She is deeply involved in creating music that blends her classical training with Southern musical influences, modern pop, R&B, and rock. Stephanie is passionate about pushing boundaries and fusing various sounds, genres, and styles to tell the stories of people of color.

(she/they) is an interdisciplinary artist who centers Southeast Asian diaspora in the United States; mixed race and LGBTQIA+ narratives; and mental health effects of generational trauma. Artwork coming from their studio balances the act of play and memory processing. She strives to answer questions about how to provide comfort and grounding spaces for marginalized, underserved communities through various sensory experiences.

is a Black/queer/woman owned ceramics sanctuary in MPLS to create and be at ease. We ensure a clean, safe, and creative environment. MUDLUK offers year-round programming including wheel throwing, handbuilding, sculpture and glaze application at the beginner, intermediate and advanced level.

Nicole Thomas is a fiscal year 2024 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
