About this Event
In this workshop educators, caretakers, and organizers will find time and space to connect with one another while engaging in the meditative hands-on practice of weaving.
During our time together participants learn to will build their own looms and weave simple projects to take home. While weaving, we will share classroom connection opportunities and engage in thinking routines to support building understanding about weaving as a historical practice. In this way, participants will experience a variety of hands on and minds-on skills they can then take into the classroom.
Key Takeaways:
- Learn simple weaving techniques
- Build a loom with simple and accessible materials
- Connect and build community with other like-minded people
- Feel confident enough to bring this practice into your classroom, home or community space
Refreshements, food, and materials are provided.
