Speaker:
Josef Diaz

A talk on the 1776 Domínguez–Escalante Expedition, a six-month journey that produced some of the earliest written and cartographic records of the interior American Southwest.
Among the party was Don Bernardo Miera y Pacheco—soldier, artist, cartographer, and polymath—whose influential map became the first European rendering of much of present-day Utah.
