Common Threads is a local crafting community for people who enjoy creating and connecting with others. We started with knitting and crochet, but we've grown to welcome makers of all kinds and all skill levels.
Bring whatever portable project you're working on: knitting, crochet, embroidery, cross stitch, hand quilting, coloring, sketching, scrapbooking, or something completely different. If you can bring it along and work on it while chatting, it belongs at Common Threads!
We gather at Compassion Coffee in Anoka on Wednesday evenings from 5:30–7:30 PM as part of Compassion's weekly Community Nights.
Community Nights are designed to be a welcoming place where people can gather, enjoy a warm meal, build relationships, and connect with their community. Compassion's goal is to create an environment where people feel seen, heard, and valued, and Common Threads gets to be one little piece of that.
A few things to know:
🧶 All crafts and skill levels are welcome.
☕ Bring your current project and settle in.
🍽️ A warm meal is available as part of Community Night.
❤️ Come by yourself or bring a friend.
🕰️ Come when you can and stay as long as you'd like.
📅 No commitment to attend every week. This is meant to be easy!
You don't need to know anyone before you come. In fact, that's kind of the point.
Common Threads exists because sometimes we need a reason to get out of the house, pick up the things we enjoy, sit around a table with other people, and make some new connections along the way.
