Commercial Voice Over - Boost

A practical workshop where Abbie will explore the ins and outs of Commercial voice work. Participants will be led through a specific microphone-sensitive warm up and given the choice of multiple ad scripts to choose. Each participant will learn how to prep a Commercial script, embrace their own unique voices, and get to record their chosen piece on the microphone, hearing themselves back afterwards. Abbie will provide feedback throughout the session and offer redirection. We will also have a Q&A about voice reels, contacting agents etc. Please let us know if you require any support with reading i.e. coloured paper/ fonts etc. as all scripts will be provided in the workshop. No prep is required, just bring yourself, something you can move in and some water.

Abbie (She/Her) is an actress and voice over artist with professional credits including: BBC Carleton Hobbs Winner 2017, becoming a series regular in the award-winning BBC Radio 4 series of Home Front. More recently, Abbie has voiced BBC Book at Bedtime and commercials for Argos, Dyson, Vinted, Screwfix, Bumble, Maltesers and Google Chromebook. Abbie also voices a main, playable character in the video game Watchdogs: Legion (PS4/5, Xbox & PC) as well as currently working on other game titles. In 2021, Abbie launched V.O. Gym (Voice Over Coaching & Voice Reel Production), helping actors navigate their way through this exciting, versatile and (sometimes) daunting side of the industry. Abbie also teaches Voice Over at numerous London Drama Schools.

This event is held in Spotlight's new spaces at 16 Garrick Street. The rooms are accessible from street level with a lift from the ground floor to the 3rd floor.
