Entry: $10 per player ($8 to prize support)
This is a structured, competitive Commander Party using our full points-based system outlined below. Pods, scoring, and prizing will be clearly tracked throughout the event.
Event Structure
• Pods of four whenever possible
• Three 80-minute rounds
• Points-based scoring system
• Prizes for 1st through 4th place
Turns and Timing
• Turns should not exceed 4 minutes
• If time becomes an issue, turn timers will be enforced
• When time is called:
– 4-minute limit enforced per turn
– Exceed 4 minutes: -1 point, then -1 per additional minute
– No extra turns or life gain after time is called
Life Totals
• Round up to the nearest even number
• Life totals are halved at the start of each upkeep
Commanders, Deck Changes, and Scoops
• Commanders are revealed at the first draw step
• Decks may be changed between rounds
• Scoops allowed only at sorcery speed
• If a scoop is due to inevitable elimination, the player removing them still receives +1 point
Points Breakdown
Placement
• 1st: 4 points
• 2nd: 3 points
• 3rd: 2 points
• 4th: 1 point
Eliminations
• +1 point per player eliminated (maximum +3)
• Eliminations via combo still count
Bonus Points
• +1 Casting your commander five times
• +1 First blood (non-commander)
• +1 Commander deals first blood
• +1 Saving an opponent from elimination
• +1 Controlling five or more permanents
• +1 Best sportsmanship (tie goes to first eliminated)
Negative Points
• -1 Tapping a permanent for mana three or more times
• -1 Non-token permanent entering the battlefield three or more times
• -1 Tapping the same permanent three or more times
• -2 Taking more than one consecutive turn
• -10 Interfering in a game you are not part of
Take Back Rule
• -1 point per reversal after priority, phase, or turn (maximum -2)
Fast K*ll Penalties
• Eliminating a player by turn 1: -4
• Turn 2: -3
• Turn 3: -2
• Turn 4: -1
Land Destruction Penalties
• Destroying fifty percent or more of a player’s lands: -8
• Destroying all lands: -10
Prolonging the Game
If a player accumulates -5 or more points and is delaying gameplay (slow play, creating unnecessary complexity), a game loss may be issued.
Game-Ending Combos and Scoop Etiquette
• Combo win with multiple players alive: you earn 1st place; remaining players continue for 2nd through 4th
• You still earn +1 per elimination before combo resolution
• Combo wins do not stack with bonus points
• Combat wins are not considered combos
Conduct and Expectations
• Do not interfere with games you are not part of
• Spectators may observe quietly but cannot influence decisions
• Respectful and courteous behavior is required
• Poor sportsmanship may result in penalties or disqualification
