Clara is an incredible, strong, and creative 11-year-old who happens to live with Type 1 diabetes - a life threatening auto immune disease. Like many families navigating this condition, Clara and her parents are working toward adding a specially trained service dog to help provide extra safety and support — especially overnight, where dangerous low blood sugar levels frequently occur. No child should have to face the realities of this disease, yet Clara handles it every single day with a smile and a true fighting spirit. She’s even hosted lemonade stands and opened a small Etsy shop to help raise funds for her future service dog.
