Folk-rockers Comfy Gutters return to Smith’s Alternative to launch their debut EP: And Of All The Ways This Coulda Started. Support from Liz Caddy.Comfy Gutters have been building a name for themselves around the Canberra music scene in the past couple of years, pulling in the punters with their unique brand of original story-telling.
Their hook-laden tunes tackle diverse themes such as the perils of lonely men on the internet, drawing inspiration from the strength of human endurance over the millennia, creating crashes just to run from the damage, and warning about pending mortality on cruise-ship voyages. And that's just on the EP alone! The debut CD features four eclectic original tracks recorded and produced by local music doyen Fred Pilcher in his studio, as well as some special guests. Six live cuts from a recent gig nicely fill it out.
The Gutters - Scotty (vox, guitar, harmonica) and Tim (electric cajon, vox) - will mostly play their own tracks, along with a couple of AM Radio bangers. They'll also be joined on stage by special guests to play tracks from the EP.
Liz Caddy is a local singer-songwriter specialising in oversharing through music. Whether she's performing a song which serenades her cat or damns her ex, she does it with passion, humour and a dash of sass.
