What does a priest, a stegosaurus and a bottle of wine have in common? – nothing, but after this workshop you might just find something!
Start the new year off with a creative workshop full of writing exercises, public speaking tips and discover the craft of joke making, the secret ingredient of the HAHA, the force that is needed to make the right punchline!
A mix of playful exercises, writing and testing of ideas, this workshop is run by Heli Pärna, a standup comedian and the showrunner of Funny Women Brussels. Each participant will also have the opportunity to test their craft at the Funny Women Brussels open mic show on February 7th!
Everyone is welcome to join, whatever your age, gender, comedy skills!

HELI PÄRNA is a Brussels based freelancer working on comedy, writing, workshops and project management. She has performed over 100 shows, heads the Funny Women Brussels shows and submits short stories just to keep the rejection muscle going. She has been performing theater and writing since she was a child tapping into the lineage of creative women in her family and with standup she has found the perfect combination for all of her creativity.
After almost two years of performing in different shows and cities, including Brussels, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Geneva and Tallinn, where she premiered her first one woman stand up show, The Adventures of the White Unicorn, during Tallinn Fringe Festival, she is now preparing for her first time at the Edinburgh Fringe. She is the showrunner of Funny Women Brussels and organizes comedy writing work-shops as well as stand up events for employers who want to make their employees laugh (in a good way).
Off stage, Heli is usually reading, watching anything by Mike Flanagan and traveling.
