Comedy Kibbutz-gathering all people who are interested in trying their hand at stand-up comedy. Show up and learn how to write setups and punchlines, microphone etiquette, some comedy history. Come prepared to share your joy of laughing and comedy you enjoy-it is PG-13 so not for little ones-but material we write needs to remain network television clean-no cursing, no body part or body function references etc. Seeking to build a comedy community-if you attend January 11th and learn how to write and perform as a stand-up-you will have a chance to do a 3-5 minute set of clean stand-up comedy on January 18th at our open mic night! Taught by Dwight McCormick-admitted to the class with the purchase of one cup of coffee and one food item from our menu. (around $5.00). Dwight is not a known comic-but he has 16 years of performing in Comedy Clubs, churches, bars, and anywhere that had a mic and an audience. He won the "Funniest Person in Dayton" at Wiley's Comedy Club in Dayton Ohio in 2016. He is graciously offering his experience not as THE authority on comedy-but as AN experienced performer. He has opened for John Witherspoon at the Dayton Funnybone and multiple times for Heywood Banks at Wiley's in Dayton and most recently for Jonnie Wethington at churches in Maryland and Virginia. Come have fun with us-you don't have to perform-come for the company and love of comedy!
