Comedy for a Cause is an uplifting, family-friendly evening of live comedy benefiting the Poiema Foundation, a local nonprofit working to combat human trafficking and support survivors right here in our communities. This encouraging night brings neighbors, families, churches, and community partners together to laugh, connect, and rally around a powerful cause. Whether you come for the laughs or the mission, you’ll leave inspired—and grateful to have been part of something meaningful.
This year, we are excited to announce our headliner is Mike Goodwin, a refreshingly funny, family-friendly stand-up comedian, speaker, and humor coach known for his sharp, clean comedy and signature bowtie. A native of Camden, South Carolina, he holds a master’s degree in Education from the University of South Carolina, is a U.S. Army veteran, and draws on his diverse life experiences to connect with audiences from all walks of life. Mike’s comedy avoids foul language, making his performances enjoyable for a wide range of audiences—from churches and community events to corporate gatherings and comedy clubs. He’s appeared on platforms such as America’s Got Talent, Dry Bar Comedy, BET, SiriusXM and more, and his goal is always to leave people laughing and inspired. Mike lives in Columbia, South Carolina, with his wife, Rozalynn, and their two children.
