About this Event
New Year's Eve Comedy at the Campbell Theater in downtown Martinez
This show will start sharply at 7:15 and ends with a Sparkling Toast at 9:00 (the New York New Year) and you get to keep the champagne flute.
As with all of our shows, portions of the proceeds from the sale of each ticket will benefit local non-profits. We've chosen to once again team up with the Campbell Theater, a 501(3)c non profit organization. Additionally, portions of the proceeds will also go to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, one of our favorite charities.
Your Headliner for the evening is Steve Mazan
Your Feature acts for the evening: Lee Levine and Cookie Williams
Steve Mazan
From a U.S. Naval Submarine hundreds of feet beneath the Atlantic... to the Ed Sullivan Theater where the Beatles and Elvis performed. That’s the path Emmy-Winning Comedian Steve Mazan has traveled. After serving during the first Gulf War Steve traded in his bubblehead badge to be a stand-up comedian. Since then he’s performed on “The Late Show with David Letterman” and won an Emmy writing for Ellen Degeneres’ daytime talk show. But of all Steve has accomplished he’s most proud of combining the two parts off his life and traveling to Iraq & Afghanistan over a dozen times to perform for the troops.
Lee Levine
Lee Levine’s comedy career started innocently enough in the sixth grade, when a well-meaning Mrs. Moore asked “Do you want to do that in from of the whole class?” That year he won the Bel Air Elementary School talent show, sharing first place honors with two break-dancing robot guys.
He began doing stand-up in San Francisco and it was there he began to form his high-energy style that lampoons the absurdities of modern life, and the obscenities of consumer and popular culture. Lee was quickly working clubs, colleges, restaurants, bars, and saw mills all over the Pacific Northwest.
Currently, Lee was selected to participate in Comedy Central’s Up Next and he can be seen touring top comedy clubs and heard nationally on XM/Sirius Satellite Radio, or “The Bob and Tom Show.” Lee is most proud of his work entertaining US Troops for Armed Forces Entertainment In Iraq and Afghanistan.
Cookie Williams
Cookie Williams is a Bay Area native, currently living in the central valley. Her comedy has opened up many doors for her doing stand-up from San Jose, Bay Area, the Valley, Sacramento, and everywhere in between. She's a regular at Punchline Sacramento, Laughs Unlimited, Deaf Puppy Manteca, and Tommy T’s. She made Top 100 in the Roast Battle League (RBL) at number 51 and continues to shine in whatever room she performs. Cookie is a relatable comedian who talks about the everyday with children, a husband, and a career in comedy. She's fun and outstanding, leaving the audience in tears of laughter.
Hosted by Bob Johnston.
