A writing workshop hosted by the Northern BC Writer's Association.
"“So you think you’re funny?”
Humour is a great thing. Some are born with it, but sometimes it takes practice and refinement. Humour can also be subjective which can make it difficult to nail down – what makes something funny? Is it timing? Word choice? Like other forms of writing, comedic writing comes with its own challenges, but techniques as well. Whether it’s strictly on paper or eventually performed on stage, comedic writing is a unique art form.
The Northern BC Writer’s Association is excited to host a comedic writing workshop. This informal panel consists of local stand-up comedians, including Kylie Lewis-Holt, Dale Erhstien, Mark Wheeler, and the NBCWA’s own Devon Flynn. The workshop is not limited to stand-up comedians, but anyone interested in learning how to inject humor into writing and discussing what makes something funny on and off paper.
