Come From Away is a critically acclaimed musical based on the true story of 7,000 airline passengers stranded in Gander, Newfoundland, when U.S. airspace closed on September 11, 2001. Over five days, the small town welcomed strangers, creating enduring friendships and showcasing kindness and humanity in the face of global tragedy.
Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander cheered the stranded travelers with music, compassion and the recognition that we’re all part of a global family. Come From Away gives theatres the opportunity to contribute to its worldwide impact by spreading the show's message of kindness, unity, and resilience with their communities.
Our thanks to the Centenary Board of Trustees for a grant to fund the production of Come From Away, directed by Andrea Broman with musical direction by Noah Wilson, the same artistic team that directed Tick Tick Boom with Social Justice Theatre in 2024.
