Join Efficiency Vermont for COMcheck case study walk through of the 2020 & 2024 Commercial Building Energy Standards. AIA LU//HSWs pending.
About this Event

Vermont’s Comprehensive Energy Plan (CEP) states that all new construction must be built to net-zero ready standards by 2030, but how will we get there? Between now and then, three cycles of code updates will progressively step Vermont along to meet the 2030 goal. The current iteration of the Vermont energy code became effective July 2024. This training will present the VT Commercial Building Energy Standards (CBES) updates for this most recent code cycle, walk through compliance options, and navigating COMcheck. This includes looking as prescriptive packages, and use of COMcheck.

Learning Objective 1:
Learn building system and component requirements for prescriptive compliance and how to enter those into COMcheck.

Learning Objective 2:
Learn the basics and some advanced user tips for COMcheck software with a walkthrough of a case study to assist in making concepts tangible. COMcheck will assist the design and builder teams confirm the base standards are met which also effectively confirms minimum building science standards for healthy, safe structure are met.

Learning Objective 3:
Learn potential missteps when navigating COMcheck, and how to make adjustments to a project following the design stage, to capture the as-built conditions for compliance reporting.

Learning Objective 4:
Understand what steps are needed to complete project compliance closeout in COMcheck and document filing requirements and retention recommendations.
