Combine the Victorious is the sublime blend of a David Lynch movie, Eurythmics and Portishead. Beautiful melodies with thoughtful lyrics and arpeggiated notes written from the rain soaked streets of Vancouver, Canada.Combine the Victorious formed in Vancouver growing from a spirited collaboration producer Mark R Henning, and fashion designer Isabelle Dunlop. They were joined by Daniel Clement in 2022.
In total Mark and Isabelle have released two EPs, three full length albums and a series of singles. To date they have licensed 21 songs for television productions and independent films. In 2022, Thorvald Records released the "Paros" anthology, a collection of songs spanning the Crumbling Hearts EP, the 2015 album Autonomous and a handful of new unreleased songs, singles and remixes.
With Dan's influence the sound has rapidly progressed from the electronic / indie trip hop stylings of Crazy Story to their latest single "I Really Like Your Style" a Bond meets Blondie pop number that is finding its way onto playlists all over the world. Now, as a three piece Combine the Victorious is quickly writing new material in 2024.
Rat Silo Rat Silo features Jim Newton, formerly of the seminal Canadian rock band Sons of Freedom, Sean Stubbs on drums (Numb, SNFU, Jakalope, Bif Naked), Finn Manniche on guitar (the Jazzmanian Devils, Van Django), and Dave Osbourne on keyboards (5440). Rat Silo released the single Gun Gun Dogh in May and Go_Go_17 in June. These are the first of six singles from the upcoming album Id, set to be released later in 2024. Rat Silo makes music for desperate times. Setting up tight, bottom-heavy grooves and mixing in samples for added texture makes a juicy base for the singer's voice.
The NightCry Seattle-based band The NightCry was formed by guitarist Andreka Jasek (The Adarna, Homewrecker, Veritas), vocalist Vincent Vuarnet (Thunderhound, DaR), and bassist Shana Fairchild (Revolution Red) in late 2020. After writing several songs, the band captured the attention of keyboardist Hannah Rock and drummer Sarah Campbell (Hairstorm, Dual Analog). The NightCry blends influences from Depeche Mode, The Cult, and David Bowie. Their postmodern, dark, romantic synth rock is entrenched in edgy and catchy hooks, tasty guitars, tight beats, and ergonomically sultry vocals; a sound they dub "post modern romance."
