Mark Grabau has worked in advanced analytics his entire career, almost 33 years. He began his career in the United States Air Force, which culminated in an assignment at the Pentagon where he won the 2000 Department of Defense and United States Air Force Awards for Modeling and Simulation. Nearly half of Mark’s career has been in consulting at Accenture, EY and IBM, and he has also held positions at L Brands, JP Morgan Chase and CAS. He holds degrees in operations research and mathematical and computer sciences from the Colorado School of Mines and the United States Air Force Academy. Mark has authored 16 peer-reviewed journal publications (three in insurance) and been granted three patents (one for usage based insurance). He was the runner-up for the 2013 INFORMS Innovation in Analytics Award for an application to predict top performing independent insurance agents for appointment. Mark lives in Westerville, Ohio with his wife and two dogs where he enjoys running, weightlifting, and treasure hunting.
