Columbus AAZK Chapter Bowling For Rhinos 2024

The American Association of Zookeepers (AAZK) is a non-profit organization made up

of animal care professionals, volunteers, and students from all over the United States.

Bowling for Rhinos is the signature conservation effort of AAZK, raising funds and

awareness for rhino conservation. One hundred percent of the money raised through

Bowling for Rhinos each year helps support Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, a sanctuary for

African rhinos located in Kenya; Ujong Kulon, a protected reserve for Javan rhinos

located on the Island of Java; Way Kambas, a sanctuary for Sumatran rhinos on the island

of Sumatra; and Action for Cheetahs in Kenya.

Typical activities supported at these sites by the money raised by Bowling for Rhinos

include building and repairing fences, purchasing, operating and maintaining planes and

vehicles to utilize in anti-poaching efforts, providing salaries for anti-poaching guards,

and in some instances, translocation of rhinos from unsafe areas into the protected zones.

The Columbus AAZK Chapter is proud to host this fundraiser yet again and can't wait to see you at this family friendly event. You have the option to buy individual tickets, or you can buy a whole bowling lane! Either way, come out to Sequoia Pro Bowl to bowl and help save some rhinos!

What is this all about????

Individuals can go around asking people to sponsor them for bowling. Make sure that would get some information from each sponsor: Name, contact information (including address), amount of the pledge, check # (if applicable). Checks can be made out to Columbus AAZK Chapter-BFR. Bring all the funds and fill out a sponsor sheet at the event with the collected information. Who can you ask? You can ask neighbors, coworkers, teachers, and anyone else that you know, you just can't ask businesses. Businesses are more than welcome to donate, they just can't count towards your total raised!

For the person that raises the most money in sponsorships will get an oportunity to for 2 people to paint with an elephant!
