Marking 100 years since the birth of John Coltrane, the Jamie Oehlers Quartet brings to life the music of one of the most influential and iconic saxophonists in jazz history. Coltrane’s work spans a remarkable emotional and sonic range—from deeply moving ballads and meditative tone poems to fiercely energetic, boundary-pushing modal explorations.
For saxophonists, Coltrane’s influence is almost unavoidable, and Oehlers is uniquely equipped to honour that legacy, having deeply internalised his sound and spirit. Joined by an all-star ensemble, he presents a powerful program featuring selections from A Love Supreme, My Favourite Things, Crescent, and more.
