Join us at Gina Godfrey Gallery for Colours of the Diaspora: A Symphony of Art, presented as part of the not-for-profit Judaic Heritage Project.

This immersive exhibition celebrates Jewish music, arts, and culture through painting, sculpture, mixed media, and textile installation. Featuring the work of Gina Godfrey, Sara Petroff, Ian Leventhal, and Melanie Siegel, the exhibition explores how Jewish music carries memory, heritage, identity, resilience, and celebration across generations and geographies.

Through four distinctive artistic perspectives, visitors are invited to experience the relationship between music and visual art:

Gina Godfrey explores Jewish heritage, music, memory, and cultural identity through portraits of influential Jewish musicians and cultural icons, including Al Waxman, Billy Joel, Neil Diamond, and Neil Sedaka. Recurring imagery such as flags, piano keys, and references to Tel Aviv connects history and tradition with celebration and artistic expression.

Sara Petroff transforms inspiration from Jewish prayer, ritual, and communal gatherings into contemporary mixed-media sculptural collages.

Ian Leventhal traces the historic journey of Jewish music—from Sephardic traditions to Broadway and contemporary culture—through expressive paintings reflecting resilience, celebration, and reinvention.

Melanie Siegel explores the emotional cadence of Jewish music through abstract textile installations filled with texture, movement, colour, and sensory expression.

Together, the four artists create an engaging dialogue between music and visual art, inviting visitors to encounter Jewish culture through emotion, storytelling, memory, and artistic interpretation.
