Almost 15 years ago, our very first intergalactic artist to ever grace the Colour of Sound stage was none other than U-Recken â the legendary psytrance voyager from Dacru Records! The strong connection with U-Recken continued after his first set with us, where Colour of Sound collaborated with his Tree of Life Festival Turkey event & journey via Australia and the world...
So for our grand return, on Saturday the 23rd of August, it felt right to reunite with U-Recken performing a MASSIVE 4 HOUR EXTENDED SET, diving deep into the hypnotic realms of pure psychedelic trance in the industrial belly of Melbourneâs most iconic venues The Industrique for a wild night of cosmic chaos and laser-fuelled lunacy!
This ainât no regular hoe-down â itâs a psychedelic stampede inside a fully decked-out warehouse dimension...

U-RECKEN'S STORY:
As a dedicated psychedelic artist, U-Recken has long captured the true essence of intelligent, psychedelic, soulful psytrance.
His musical journey began with the now-classic debut album Aquatic Serenade (2006), followed by Deeper into Man (2008). After joining Belgium-based Dacru Records in 2011, U-Recken released a string of acclaimed works, including A Light at the End of the World (2013), Flames of Equilibrium, and Nothing is Sacred (2017), along with numerous EPs and singles that continue to resonate on dancefloors worldwide.
In 2026, U-Recken celebrates 20 years of the project, kick-starting a global anniversary tour with a special return to Australia - the same place he first toured back in 2006. Known for closing countless doofs & festivals with unforgettable DJ sets, U-Reckenâs deep understanding of dancefloor dynamics has earned him a reputation as a highly skilled and emotionally impactful DJ.
Beyond the stage, Yaniv Ben Ari (U-Recken) is also a visionary entrepreneur and community builder. He co-founded the Tree of Life Festival in the picturesque mountains of Turkey and launched innovative platforms like FeedFreq & BigFreq Academy.
Two decades in, U-Recken is still evolving- and, in many ways, just getting started.

OUR COLOUR OF SOUND STORY:
If youâre new here, welcome or returning to us, welcome back. Colour of Sound started back in 2010 making appearances at some of the biggest festivals and shows in Australia, quickly the demand grew and Colour of Sound became itâs own thing, running solo parties and the like.
Eventually as the world turned to shit and the apocalypse set in, we went it hiatus until the time is right, and that time is now!
We have worked with the biggest names of the industry including, Infected Mushroom, Ace Ventura, Ritmo, Liquid Soul, John 00 Fleming, Vini Vici, Captain Hook, Animato, Zyce, Berg, Vibe Tribe, Altruism, Headroom, Waio, Mad Maxx, Symbolic, Dicktster, Hypogeo, Nitrodrop, Hedflux and countless more...
