About this Event
Join us for “Colors of Hope: Paint & Sip Tea for Wellness”, a creative and restorative gathering in honor of Chronic Pain Awareness Month, hosted in collaboration with Therapy District.
In addition to expressing thoughts and emotions about the journey towards wellness, the event aims to help attendees forge connections through conversation, laughter and support in a safe space, creating the foundations of a mutually respectful and encouraging community that will exist beyond the close of the session.
Alongside enjoyment, there is an educational element where painters will be able to explore the selection of herbal teas, discovering more about their calming and restorative benefits. To complete the experience, the team from The Therapy District will share strategies for managing chronic pain and improving wellbeing.
The event is open to all, whether new to painting or with many years of artistic development to call on.
All attendees will leave with a piece of art that reflects their personal journey.
This restorative gathering, hosted by Fibromyalgia Patient Education and Support Organization’s founder, Necie L Edwards, in partnership with Therapy District, aims to infuse art, tea and the connection into the journey of healing.
Designed to provide a gentle, creative outlet for individuals that are living with chronic pain and their supporters, the event has been curated to create a calming environment.
Also, to anyone seeking a mindful escape, participants will sip on a beautiful selection of wellness teas while they’re guided through a painting session that focuses on powerful themes of hope and resilience.

Biography:
Necie Edwards is a Healing Through Art Facilitator, health activist, and women’s empowerment coach who believes in the power of creativity and community to spark hope and healing. As the founder of Stay on Hope Avenue and Fibromyalgia Patient Education and Support, Necie has dedicated her life to uplifting women and individuals living with chronic illness through empowerment, resilience, and joy.
Blending her passion for art, tea rituals, and wellness, Necie creates unique Paint & Tea Party experiences where participants are invited to relax, express themselves through painting, and find calm in mindful sips of tea. With a background in health advocacy and empowerment coaching, she brings a compassionate and encouraging presence that makes each event feel both restorative and inspiring.
Necie’s philosophy is simple yet powerful: healing doesn’t always have to be loud — sometimes it flows through a brushstroke and a cup of tea. Her events provide a safe space to nurture creativity, build connection, and remind each person that resilience and beauty can be found even in life’s hardest seasons.
Thes Benefits of Art in Managing Chronic PainArt is more than a creative outlet it is a proven tool for healing and resilience. Studies show that engaging in art, whether through painting, drawing, or creative expression, can significantly reduce the intensity and perception of chronic pain. Here are some key benefits:1. Reduces Stress and Pain Perception
Creating art activates the brain’s reward pathways, releasing dopamine the “feel-good” hormone. This natural shift helps lower stress levels, which can reduce muscle tension and the body’s perception of pain.
2. Encourages Mind-Body ConnectionArt activities provide a meditative focus, allowing individuals to step away from cycles of pain rumination. This mindful engagement can calm the nervous system and promote relaxation, similar to meditation or deep breathing practices.
3. Provides Emotional ReleaseLiving with chronic pain often brings feelings of frustration, sadness, or isolation. Art offers a safe outlet for expressing those emotions without words, giving people a sense of control and empowerment.
4. Builds Community and SupportParticipating in art workshops or group sessions fosters social connection. This reduces feelings of isolation, which are common among those with chronic illness, and provides a shared space of encouragement and understanding.
5. Promotes Resilience and HopeThe act of creating something beautiful even in the midst of pain is a reminder of personal strength and possibility. Art reinforces the message that healing doesn’t always have to be loud; sometimes it flows through a brushstroke.
