ABOUT COLORADO STARTUP WEEK
Colorado Startup Week is a celebration of everything entrepreneurial in Colorado and the largest free event of its kind. Since 2012, our annual event routinely brings over 10,000 people together with 200+ programs and events to celebrate Colorado’s thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem and bring the community together in the center city’s culture of innovation.
The weeklong event is intended to unite the entrepreneurial community in Colorado and beyond, and celebrate great companies, innovation, ideas, and people. Events throughout the week are organized by the community and our volunteers. It includes sessions, presentations, panels, workshops, happy hours, celebratory events, job fairs and more.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Anna Graves (Field Academy) Executive DirectorAnna Graves is the founder of Field Academy, an experiential traveling high school for public school students. Her areas of expertise are chronic absenteeism, truancy, and dropout prevention. She has spent the last decade working in alternative education, from starting charter schools to working in the field as an outdoor instructor.Kelly Tenkely (CultivatED)Kelly Tenkely is an educational change maker. Kelly has been a teacher, technology integration specialist, educational consultant, prolific blogger, education reform conference organizer, and speaker. Most recently, Kelly imagined a new model of education, one that is honoring to students as unique individuals. Kelly started a preschool through 8th grade school, Anastasis Academy, based on this model. She is diligently working on her latest invention, The Learning Genome Project, to make the Anastasis model of education available to all children.Dr. Kyle Gamba (LaLuz) Ecosystem Builder/School Whisperer/Chief Joy OfficerFrom leading transformations in public schools to launching LaLuz, Kyle brings vision, heart, and humor to every table. He's a master of co-creation and handshake lessons, and he's always thinking a few systems ahead to help communities design learning that matters.
ACCESIBILITY
Parking: Metered street parking is available (parallel parking) on Market St. Paid lots are available within a few blocks. The closest one is on 21st and Market St.
Entrance Access: Our front door is at street level and manually operated, accessible for wheelchairs and mobility aids. The rest of the block has sidewalks raised by five steps; however, the bike lane offers a step-free route down the block with minimal car traffic.
Restrooms: All-gender restrooms. Just like at home.
Communication: Staff on site speak English. We welcome communication via translation apps (Google Translate is available). While we do not use ASL, we’re happy to communicate through apps or other tools that work for you.
Alcohol Policy: No alcohol will be served or permitted at this event.
Masks: Masks are encouraged and supplied.
