Colorado Springs Photo & Content Workshop

This Creative Hangout & Workshop is built around off camera flash, ambient and flash balance, creative gel lighting, hands on shooting, BTS content creation, live demos, Q&A, real time guidance, and a 45 minute editing track after the workshop.

You will learn, watch, shoot, ask questions, rotate through multiple curated sets with models, and hang out in a laid back environment designed to feel personal, practical, and easy to follow.

This is not your typical stiff photography workshop. We are going to HANG OUT and create!

This is a hands on creative experience built for photographers who want to learn in a way that feels real, relaxed, and personal. You will get to see the process, ask questions as we go, shoot through curated setups, and get guidance in real time instead of just standing around watching from the back of the room.

The goal is to create an environment where you can slow down, understand what is happening, try things for yourself, and feel comfortable asking questions.

But this is more than just a workshop. It is also a creative hangout. You will have time to talk through real life photography struggles, get personalized guidance, watch live demos, shoot with models, and hang out with Ray and Kay Alvarez in a relaxed environment.

Tickets will be limited so every attendee gets more attention, more access, and more time to actually learn.

Most photographers struggle because they are trying to figure everything out while they are already shooting. They are guessing their flash power, fighting with ambient light, overthinking their settings, or trying to create content without a real plan.

In this creative hangout and workshop, we are going to slow that down and simplify it.

This is not about overwhelming you with complicated setups.

It is about helping you understand light, direction, creativity, and how to create stronger work with the tools you already have.

This workshop will take place in Colorado Springs at a large private studio and ranch.

The location gives us the ability to work both indoors and outdoors, which means you will get to see how lighting decisions change depending on the environment. We will use the space to create multiple setups, different looks, and real shooting scenarios that help you understand how to adapt.

One of the biggest things I want photographers to understand is that your shoot can create more than just photos. During the workshop, I will also teach how I create content while I am already shooting. Learn how to create content similar to what you see on my Instagram.

You will learn how to squeeze in quick, high quality video clips that can be used for reels, ads, stories, social media, and overall marketing.

If you are trying to market yourself, there is nothing better than combining strong photos with strong video visuals.

We will talk through:

• What BTS clips are worth capturing
• How to film simple content without slowing down the shoot
• Recommended tools for BTS and content capture
• How to think about content while still focusing on the photo session
• Ideas & Concepts in creating marketing material from the work you are already doing

This part is designed to help you leave not only with better images, but with a better understanding of how to show people what you do and market yourself organically.

After the workshop, we will move into a 45 minute editing track where you will get to see how I bring the images together after the shoot. We will take a few photos from the sets we created earlier and walk through my editing process in real time. This is where you will learn how I think through image selection, color, skin, contrast, creative direction, and the final polish that helps bring the image to life.

The goal is not just to show a quick before and after. The goal is to help you understand how I edit, why I make certain decisions, and how the choices we made during the shoot affect the final image. You will get to see how the photo goes from camera to final edit while the entire process is still fresh.

For attendees who want more practice, there will be an optional upgrade: Day 2 Model Shootout. Think of this as Part 2 of the workshop.

Day 1 is where you learn, watch demos, ask questions, and get instruction, practice some.

Day 2 is where you come back and practice some more

There will be models, a few curated sets, and time to shoot in a more relaxed environment. This second day is designed to help you apply what you learned during the workshop while everything is still fresh. This is not a full instruction day. There will not be formal teaching or full breakdowns like Day 1.

Instead, Day 2 will be focused on practice, repetition, guidance, and creating. I will be there to help, answer questions, point you in the right direction, and guide you as needed, but the goal is for you to shoot more, build confidence, and work through what you learned.

For Day 1 workshop attendees, the Day 2 Model Shootout upgrade is $100.

For photographers who only want to attend the Day 2 Model Shootout and are not attending Day 1, the price is $250.
