About this Event

Join CSU Extension Tri-River Area Native Plant Master staff and trainers on this discovery walk at Colorado National Monument. We will be traveling the Alcove Nature Trail, seeing what is in bloom, and learning about the native flora of the Colorado National Monument.

Learn about resources for learning about the flora of Colorado, including CSU Extension's Native Plant Master Program.


Please Bring: Water and snacks, layers of clothing, sunscreen, hat, rain gear, good hiking shoes, and whatever you need to be comfortable outside for a couple hours. This activity is in the Colorado National Monument, a US Fee Area. NPS pass or gate fees required.

Free, registration required.


Accessibility: The Alcove Nature Trail is a mostly level trail that travels to an alcove in a box canyon. The first quarter-mile ADA-accessible decomposed-granite trail to a scenic spot overlooking Wedding Canyon. Round trip to the box canyon: 1 mile. This activity is in the Colorado National Monument, a US Fee Area. NPS pass or gate fees may be required.
